Not the fruit – but the Japanese comics called manga. I’ve been a fan, but only recently have I been starting to read more. One of them that I particularly liked was “Claymore” – it’s a suspense filled manga with lots of actions coupled with a good story line. This is one manga where you don’t know who will survive and who will not. There are heart pounding fight scenes on every page and the author really knows how to get you into the story. It’s like you are actually there! The weapons and skills used are awesome but not entirely original. We have seen swords that slice through steel drums, but at least this time they have some unique concepts of abilities. Definitely a must read for manga fans – and not for the weak at heart.

You may have noticed this – but everyone with a DSLR camera now-a-days claim to be good photographers. With the advent of social networking, photos of people – friends or not – flood our eyes, and sadly not as great as most of them would say. It would have been a lot simpler if people just used those point and shoot cameras and just take memorable pictures. Sadly people who can afford expensive cameras like fuji cameras, think that they can get away with just a good camera without a good eye or skill. Oh well – who am I to complain, I want a DSLR too and would probably have my own watermark as soon as I open the box. Hehe. Here’s a sample photo I took using a DSLR.

Our friend is thinking of transferring to a mobile home. He has already raised his children and has now since retired. His wife has passed away a few years back. He feels so alone in his big house now that all his kids have a family of their own. A motorhome is ideal for someone like him so he started looking for one a second hand vehicle. A second hand motorhome can be as reliable as a brand new one especially if it was taken good care of by the previous owner. Paying for motorhome repair once it gets broken will still be cheaper than paying for a brand new. I advised my friend to check the vehicle carefully before purchasing or better yet buy from someone he trusts.

Just what would you do if your life is stolen? This was what happened to Jaycee Dugard who was kidnapped when she was just aged 11, gave birth to her abductor’s child at age 14, and after more than a decade was reunited back to her family. It is a story so unimaginable but so true.

Duggard is now okay and is back living with her mom and two kids. She is now 31 years old. In her book, A Stolen Life, she recounts the harrowing details she spent with her husband and wife abductors and best of all, how she survived it all. This is a story of hope and determination to live – a truly inspiring read for all of us who aren’t still happy with our own comfortable lives. This should teach us a lesson that we should never take for granted the things that matter most in our lives.

Every month malls around our area will have their very own special “sale”, which meant discounted prices, frantic shoppers, full car parks and worst of all – unbelievable traffic jam.  Despite the inconvenience – people will still take the bait, like the obedient and predictable prey that they are.  Some even dream of payday advance – just to prepare the cash they need for an item. In any case it’s always a good idea to stay away from roads close to malls to avoid crazy traffic during sale days.
