I grew up under the care of my “Lola”. Both of my Grand mothers rom my father side and my mother side took turns in taking care of my when I was young. And both of them took care of me when I was young.
The one that took care of me when I was really young was my father’s mother whom we call Lola Puring. She is now 87 years old and is still very strong. Whenever we visit her, she tells me and my son stories of how I used to play with the covers of frying pan. According to her, my definition of a good time back then was spinning everything that I find, and ofcourse the covers of frying pans and cooking pots spin nicely and loudly which obviously appealed to me. My son finds the stories amusing, as I do too. I still fondly remember the times I spent with her as I was growing up.
She is now under the care of my Aund is still very active. At least she no longer has to worry for her children because my uncles and aunts are doing OK, and some of my cousins are also doing well with good paying, Orderly Jobs.
As much as possible we do visit her and make sure she is entertained by both me and my sons which are her great grandsons. To be continued…
