As a family, we all agree that we don’t like hosting parties. We do attend parties but its not something that we consider special. Now that December is coming, our youngest is about to turn two and so we are again asking the question to party or not…?

I am thinking of just cooking some good food and simply sharing it to our neighbor, specially since we have a big vacation coming up early next year. Still I can’t help but feel sad that our baby will not get a big party.

It got me thinking that maybe we should contact the magician/comedian/puppeteer that hosted the birthday of our eldest, which was a fun birthday to say the least. Well we are planning for a big birthday bash for him when he gets to school, complete with mirror balls and light effects like the chauvet intimidator spot 250 at Musicians friend.

For now, we just keep it simple.

The coming of the first “Ber” month signifies the start of the Christmas day countdown. I know its still a long way but that is how people celebrate the Christmas season here. The malls and radio stations are again busy playing Christmas carols while people slowly accept that the stress of Christmas traffic and Christmas spending is about to begin!

Hopefully, the real meaning behind Christmas – which is God giving us his Love is never lost. My wish is to enjoy a white Christmas abroad with my family in the future, and maybe go skiing with gear from www.peterglenn.com! So for now I have to work harder to make this dream Christmas vacation a reality.

Cebu Pacific is having a seat sale for as low as 90% off for Labor Day. I almost booked a flight to Hongkong for our youngest son’s 2nd birthday. However, my husband has other plans. He wants to celebrate his birthday here instead.

I know anywhere we celebrate it we will have a grand time. We have lots of friends and families here who I know will be delighted to celebrate his birthday with us. We can just invite them for a swimming party so everyone can have a grand time. Those who can’t attend we can just send them birthday party cookies so they can also celebrate his birthday even though they are busy.

Recently, we had a drive to clean our local church. It happened as planned, after an early Saturday morning devotion.

A lot of members showed their support, they brought different kinds of wash clothes, scrubs, soaps and abrasives and totally dug in to clean all the chairs, the floor, the walls, the fans and everything else in between. We also cleaned the instruments and the cables that we use.

The event ofcourse inspired personal and spiritual cleanliness, as people started discussing this over great food that was freely served to all cleaners.

Here is a picture comparison of 1940 and 1960 era Quezon Blvd. So much has changed in 20 years. Streets were almost empty back in the ’40s and have been busy in the ’60s. I’ll post some more pics in the future.

This year – 2011, I’ve been going to a lot of places, and mostly out of town. I’ve been to Tagaytay, Laguna, Subic, Bulacan, Cavite and all the places in between. We attended a lot of parties and events, accepted a number of holiday invitations, and joined a growing number of reunions. And to think that the year is not even close to being over! I guess having a car gave us the ability to go out more often than before but at times I just want to lie down and do nothing! Still who can complain when you are swimming at a beach or a hot spring pool? I just wish we could just teleport to those places – because out of town driving is tiring.
