Now that the new year is about to begin, I’m thinking of new adventures to conquer. I believe this would be a good year to try something different, and the first thing that came into my mind is playing a travel guitar in the great outdoors! The last time I joined these types of activities was when I was still a young Boy Scout! I’ll have to get all the gear that I need including first aid kits, tents, and a travel guitar that can fit on my camelpak!
When we passed by a local flower shop, my wife suddenly bugged me about it. To be honest, I’ve never been one who brings flowers – in my thoughts flowers are a waste of money because it will just die out in a matter of days. I’ve given her some on a few occasions, but I’ll always choose something to give her something that will last if given a choice.
However, I can’t help but wonder if I’m being too frugal about it. What I am planning to do, as soon as our house gets renovation, is to get some nice flower bearing plants and orchids – so that my wife can have them whenever they bloom.
Our church renovation has been moving along nicely, although slow, the progress has been continuous and hopefully before the rainy season kicks in, the rooftop slab would be in place. Right now we can see the third starting to form and ofcourse we are all excited to see its completion. Although I’d prefer the classic wooden church look over steel buildings, the new design and bigger space will definitely benefit the congregation and will stand as a beacon of hope in our community.
When I was younger our house was built near a rice field which is also called “bukid”. And we normally see a Kalabaw or carabao helping out farmers as well as cows and goats. Two decades later having gone back to the same house that I grew up on, its sad to see our street and our area full of houses – to the point that there are very few trees. The once lush green rice field where kalabaws work are now stone houses and streets.

My son was even surprised when he saw a carabao in person while vacationing at Bohol. I felt sad because he did not experience the same old school childhood as I did.
I’ve recently signed up for a music training every Saturday and ever since then, my weekends have become extra hectic. And its not because of the training but its because of the many other events that suddenly pops up.
I’ve gone to birthdays, parks, gigs, productions, and I’ve already seen a lot of nice looking Trade show table covers which meant that I’ve been spending too much time at the malls.
Thankfully the training will stop for the month of December, but I doubt I’ll have more free time by then. I have to regroup and better plan the way I spend my weekend time.
